Performance

Two of the powertrains offered with the 2023 GLS have been redesigned to produce more power. The V6 engine for the GLS 450 now generates 375 horsepower. This trim level features paddle shifters with a nine-speed automatic transmission, 4MATIC® all-wheel drive, and adaptive air suspension for both model years. The V8 engine in the GLS 580 puts out 510 horsepower in 2024. The 2024 GLS 580 has also been updated with an air suspension with a 1.2-inch lift and underbody protection. The AMG® GLS 63 continues to have a 603-horsepower, turbo 4.0-liter, V8 engine. In addition to the mechanical features introduced in the lower trim levels, this trim level adds advanced steering, exhaust, and braking capabilities.

Appearance

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS introduces a refreshed front-end design. The look includes arched LED headlights, horizontal accent bars through the grille, and bumper air vents. The bumper has an innovative, bowtie-style shape. For both 2023 and 2024, the GLS has decadent sculpting across the door panels and a regal, flowing profile. Some or all trims for the 2023 and 2024 GLS have rain-sensing wipers, auto high beams, 20-inch wheels or larger, a panoramic sunroof, a hands-free liftgate, heated side mirrors with power-folding functionality, illuminated running boards, soft-close doors, and more.

Features

Inside the Mercedes-Benz GLS, the 2024 model year introduces a new color scheme and an updated steering wheel in the cabin. For 2023 and 2024, the GLS is available with heated seats in all rows, an interior fragrance system, a head-up display, lane-keeping assistance, a premium advanced sound system, contoured and massaging seats for all rows, wireless charging pads in the first and second rows, a second-row tablet for the infotainment system, a four-zone climate control system an MBUX infotainment system, a navigation system, natural voice recognition, a wireless charging station, and others.
